Description:
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office/hospital. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Measure vital signs
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Check with patients and type up patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Stock exam rooms
- Follow up on patient calls and requests
- Assist physician with procedures and needs
- Assist office manager with assignments and tasks
- Assist reception with rescheduling patients and filling out forms, if needed
- Manage MA specific sections of working spreadsheets
- Close down clinic when clinic is over for the day
- Attend staff meetings
- Attend 1:1 with manager
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software-
- Understanding and proficient in HIPAA rules and regulations
